LAND BASED TEST SITE
The Land Based Test Site (LBTS) is a laboratory of the University of Vigo located in the Technological Logistics Park (PTL), very close to the Vigo university campus. This 500-square-meter laboratory houses an Integrated Services System (SSI) demonstrator, a project developed for Navantia on the 4.0 ship line and digital twins [research line link].
In addition, other important projects of the SC7-B group were developed at the LBTS in the line of [research line link]. Highlight the DIAR (High Resolution Instrumental Demonstrator) and the DIFI (Infrared Signature Instrumental Demonstrator), systems for measuring the radar signature and the infrared (IR) signature of naval, land or air units.
Subsequently, as a result of the success in both versatility and performance of these two systems, the COM group developed a third system, the DIGE (Instrumental Demonstrator for Electronic Warfare), a system for training and diagnosing electronic warfare equipment.
A team of between 20 and 30 engineers work at the LBTS, led by professors Fernando Obelleiro and José Luis Rodríguez.
The LBTS also serves as the headquarters for the spin-off EM3WORKS, a technology-based company formed by researchers from the University of Vigo (UV) and the University of Extremadura (UEx), with the participation of both universities, for the exploitation of the electromagnetic simulation code. M3.
