Biography


Antonio Murillo Roldán was born in Cabra (Córdoba) in 1958. He was qualified as Industrial Engineer in the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICAI) in 1983. He carried out his master thesis on "Optimization of Water Resources along Sil river" helded in ENDESA. It comprised a simulation program that optimized turbine facilities at various flow rates and minimizing waste.

His professional exprience began in 1984, when he worked on Genco Iberica as project manager in several industrial plants in Spain, Israel (company Plaro Container of Tel Aviv, 4 months) and USA (Western company Kraft Philadelphia and Dallas, 4 months). After that he worked in Citröen Hispania Group PSA (between1985 and1989) in the departments of methods, computer and maintenance. Since 1990 he worked in Telefónica, acquiring knowledge in different departments of planning and development of fixed networks (PSTN, ISDN, ADSL, ATM, MPLS, FTTH, and wireless networks (GSM, GPRS, UMTS, LTE). HDS and WDM Transmission,  broadband networks. Bridges, Routers and Gateways of CISCO. Communication protocols RIP, BGP, SAP, IP, IPX, UDP, TCP.

Research

Conducted two doctoral degree (PhD) courses in 2002 obtaining sufficient research.
He has worked in various research projects of the Department of Electronics Technology.

Teaching

He has been an associate professor at the University of Vigo from 1990 to 2010 (21 years), teaching various subjects of electronic technology, telecommunications, sensors and data acquisition in the ETSI Industrials and Telecommunications.
He has also taught for 5 years at the Navy School of Electronics and Transmissions (Ministry of Defence) (1995-2000) and full professor of Industrial EUIT of Toledo (1990).
He has taught numerous courses and conferences related to new technologies, in public and private institutions as (Xunta de Galicia, GKN Indugasa, Fondos de Promoción de Empleo, Instituto de Electrónica Aplicada Pedro Barrie, Pescanova, Centro de Estudios Empresariales, Eucaliptos de Pontevedra, IFES, University of Vigo, Confederación de Empresarios de Pontevedra, etc.)
